George R. R. Martin used to blog about football every week, so that’s my excuse. It’s still early enough in the season that we can entertain dreams of the Commanders being competitive.

But NFL Week 4 kind of sucked.

The Washington Commanders, who I now call the Washington Catastrophes, already lost their starting quarterback Jayden Daniels. In London, they lost their backup quarterback in the first quarter and had to play the rest of the game with their third string quarterback. The dude had like one good completion for the whole game and they lost definitively.

The only consolation is that the Eagles also lost. But the Giants and Cowboys won, somehow leaving the Giants as the division leaders.

The season is already slipping away for the Commanders. Of course now they’re going to rush Jayden Daniels back into the lineup and he’ll probably hurt himself again and that’ll be that.

NFC East Record
New York Giants 3-1
Philadelphia Eagles 2-2
Dallas Cowboys 2-2
Washington Commanders 1-3
