A Fox Passing Through

I don’t like using Facebook very much, but one of the only things it’s actually useful for is posting photos. Then it occurred to me that I have an entire blog just sitting here, where I can also post as many photos as I want without them going directly into a database for image analysis. (These photos probably go into a database as well, it just takes a bit longer for Google’s crawlers to pick them up and store them.) Fox walking at the far end of the back yard Fox searching for a nice place to lie down Fox found a spot to lie down in the sun
This is a fox I happened to spot in the back yard this morning. I saw something through the window and at first I thought it was an old yellow cat I’d seen back there once before. Binoculars revealed it was not a cat. I grabbed my camera with telephoto lens and snapped a few pictures through the window.
This is the second time I’ve seen a fox here-presumably it’s the same one I saw a few months ago. It’s also the second time I’ve seen a fox in my entire life. They are a lot bigger than I ever imagined. It’s hard to tell at that distance but this one is probably bigger than my dog.
Presumably this is an American red fox.
